Golf Opens Back Up In The South Sound

Phew! Finally a break in our stay at home routines during this Covid-19 crisis. While shelter in place guidelines still remain in effect, most of our beautiful golf courses have opened back up. And why not? Golf can be a solitary sport. Sure, it’s fun to meet up with a couple of friends and play a round together, but this is also a great activity you can do alone, or with a family member that you live with. If you do decide to meet up with a friend, you’re only aloud to play with one, and you’ll have to have separate carts, if they are available. And social distancing rules still apply, so stay 6 feet away from your friend while playing.

While the courses are open, some of the driving ranges are staying closed, and there is no equipment rental so you must bring your own clubs. Golf carts are kind of hit or miss at the moment with some courses renting them, (only 1 person per cart), and some courses not. Golfers are required to schedule tee-times by phone or online, and payments must also be taken either by phone or online. No cash! Several courses offer their score card as a downloadable pdf, and advise you to print it out before coming to cut down on the amount of paper that changes hands once you arrive.
